-Poets used individualism (humans are basically good), impressions, physical and emotional passion - Emphasis on love of nature, country life (as city life brings illnesses); emphasis on psychology, melancholy, and sadness
-An artist is an individualistic creator - Romantics against the order/rationality of classical and neoclassical art
-They were rebellious (freedom from oppression) and reformist people (human rights & individualism)
